My name is Ayebo Omotayo a Comedian/Skit Maker known as Oyeyotee.
* For u, is comedy an hobby or a passion?
For me, comedy is a passion, it is something I have zeal for. It gives me joy to see people happy and laughing.
* It is a common knowledge that you are a Skit Maker of a popular Comedy Skit known as "Dry Jokes Wednesday", what is "Dry Jokes Wednesday" all about and how did "Dry Jokes Wednesday" start?
"DRY JOKES WEDNESDAY" is not about jokes that are actually but about jokes that has to do with how intelligent you are. Meaning that these jokes deal with the IQ and it takes a lot of thinking to actually get the right answers. Though these jokes are called "Dry Jokes" but they are far from dry because you can't help but laugh when you listen. "Dry Jokes" bring about creativity in comedy. I can't really explain how it started but there is this "Dry Jokes" page on Instagram that normally repost people's dry jokes every wednesday. I started following the page 2 years ago and since then, I have been dropping "Dry Jokes" every wednesday and this has placed me among the leading Comedians on that page.
* How has comedy been so far and what should ur fans be expecting from you now or in the nearest future?
Comedy isn't what everyone thinks it is.... It is about refreshing your jokes and moving the crowd. I remember when I started, it was hell because I couldn't carry the crowd along lol and most friends said what I was doing was meaningless. I didn't give up I kept trying because it is what I have passion for. I love to see people laugh and smile. Now, all my friends disturb me to feature them in any of my skits. My fans should expect more of acting from me as I would be going into the movie industry. It won't be stand-up comedy alone as I would be bringing Comedy into actions.
* What else do you do apart from Comedy?
Aside comedy, I have a business I run which is breeding of dogs. And I also act.
* What perception about Comedy do want to change in this modern day society that we live in? And what innovation are you planning to bring into Comedy?
I really don't have what to change about comedy because it is not just a one way thing, the comedy industry is very wide. But I'm planning to bring words into actions in comedy. That is, not just saying those words to make people laugh but displaying them and acting the exact words you speak.
* What is ur advice for fellow Comedians?
Fellow comedians, "Never give up and try to discover what you are good at". Everyone can't be a stand-up comedian, you can also be a skit maker and many more. But the most important thing is that you discover that which you are best fitted.
* From your works, it is not a hidden fact that you are versatile in the Comedy business as u act as an old man, a young man, a young lady and even a mother in your various skits, so the question is, where do you see yourself in the next five to ten years?
