One major point from the holy bible is that, “the
tongue is sharper than a two edged-sword”. This can simply mean that the tongue
is capable of murdering someone’s dreams. What do you say when a friend tells
you about his or her vision? How do you react to a friend’s success? What is
your non-verbal expression when you see that your friend has set for himself or
herself a solid plan? Moreso, do you call your friend ‘selfish’ because he
refused to spend his profit of an investment on sheer enjoyment or mere frivolities
with you? Are you an encourager or a discourager? Are you someone who condemns
the next person’s song because he can sing better, you can’t sing at all or
because the person is still an upcoming artist?
There are people who have never patronized their
friend who is a make-up artist, hair dresser or fashion designer; they go
elsewhere because they believe their friend is not skillful enough. Why not
help that friend by letting her know what is not making her skillful enough?
Show your friend the mistakes made and how that same thing is done elsewhere.
Some people always expect free things from their
friends. The fact that he/she is your friend is the more reason why you
should be the first to pay for any service rendered.
